murakami
im working on a creative project with one of my professors. she said it reminded her of a murakami story called "on seeing the 100% perfect girl one beautiful april morning." i just read it right now, and i am extremely and utterly flattered.
of course my script isn't nearly as beautiful and concise as murakami's (and of course, in murakami fashion, the ending is completely bittersweet and makes us all want more). but my professor is right...there is this weird feeling i get when reading that short story that i did try and accomplish with my script. a script that doesn't even have a name yet.
aside from my documentary, it's probably going to be my last ditch effort at UCI to do a full blown production with the rest of my peers. i'm excited as all hell, and i have a lot of people that believe in me and this script i've written.
here goes.

tirer et editer mon film
in one month, i have to turn in the abstract for my documentary. in 2 months, i have to present it to the UROP symposium.
i have reviewed and logged about 1/4th of the footage, and i still have 4 more interviews + b-roll to film.
i am fucked. tres fucked.
i don't know where the documentary is headed, how it will be assembled, or any idea what it will be about. i have about 40 hours of rehearsals, the play, interviews, and me lamenting into the camera. i don't want to put myself into this documentary and frame it around me-trying-to-put-together-a-documentary and having it completely meta. i have gold on my hands and i don't think it needs my presence. i don't know if it's going to be a traditional documentary or some weird abstract one.
and oh yeah, there's school, homework, work, and 2 other films to worry about. oh. and paris.
last quarter at UCI. i will go out with a bang, n'est pas?
