i'm afraid to address issues in my films that are truly important to me. i don't want to fall back on them as issues, or topics, or messages. i don't want it to seem like i'm saying something or cramming a moral into a film. i don't want them to seem like movies about minorities, race, gender or sexuality.
but if i don't, i'm not sure i have anything to say.
